Mastering Roomba i3: Ultimate Deep Cleaning Guide
Keeping your Roomba i3 in top shape ensures it effectively cleans your floors. Deep cleaning your robot vacuum is an essential part of its maintenance, and today, we'll guide you through the process. Let's dive in!
Before we start, gather your supplies: a bowl, dish soap, a soft-bristle brush, cotton swabs, microfiber cloths, and a screwdriver (for the i3+ model). Now, let's begin.
External Cleaning
Start by cleaning the exterior of your Roomba i3. Remove the dustbin and filter, then empty the dustbin.
Wet a microfiber cloth with warm water and a drop of dish soap. Gently wipe the exterior, avoiding the sensors. Rinse and dry the cloth, then wipe again to remove any residue.
Cleaning the Sensors
Your Roomba i3's sensors help it navigate and avoid obstacles. Use a dry cotton swab to gently clean the sensors on the front and sides of the robot.
For the cliff sensors (on the bottom), use a soft-bristle brush to remove any debris. Be careful not to damage them.
Cleaning the Brushes
The side brush and main brush need regular cleaning. Remove them using the provided tool or your fingers.
Clean the brushes under running water, using a soft-bristle brush to remove tangled hair and debris. Let them air dry completely before reattaching.
Internal Cleaning (i3+ Model)
If you have the i3+ model with a self-emptying base, you'll need to clean the bin inside the base as well.
Unplug the base, then use a screwdriver to remove the screws on the back. Lift off the back panel to access the bin.
Cleaning the Bin
Remove the bin and empty it. Use a damp microfiber cloth to wipe down the inside of the bin and the area where the bin sits.
Clean the filter in the bin using warm water and a drop of dish soap. Rinse and dry it thoroughly before replacing it.
Cleaning the Charging Contacts
Over time, dust and debris can build up on the charging contacts, preventing your Roomba i3 from charging properly.
Use a cotton swab dipped in isopropyl alcohol to gently clean the contacts on both the robot and the base. Be careful not to touch the contacts with your fingers.
Congratulations! You've just completed a thorough deep clean of your Roomba i3. Regular deep cleaning will help maintain its performance and extend its lifespan. Happy cleaning!
