Classic Cookout Games with a Twist

Who said classic games have to be boring? We've put a fun, family-friendly spin on some old favorites to keep everyone entertained and engaged.

From the moment your guests arrive, set the tone with our "Greeting Station" game. Create a DIY photo booth with props, and have everyone take a group photo before the fun begins. This instant memento will have your crew laughing and bonding before the first burger hits the grill.

Giant Jenga

This towering game of skill and strategy is a cookout classic for a reason. But why stop at regular-sized blocks when you can go giant? Grab some 2x4s, cut them into blocks, and watch as your family and friends try to outwit each other without toppling the tower.

Pro tip: For an added challenge, paint each block with different point values or fun forfeits. The higher the block, the bigger the risk!

Cornhole with a Cookout Twist

This classic bean bag toss game is a must-have at any cookout. But why not add a little friendly competition and a tasty twist? Paint your cornhole boards with different food categories (like burgers, hot dogs, or BBQ), and have players aim for the highest-scoring food. The player with the most points at the end of the game gets to choose the first dish off the grill!

Don't forget to set up a cornhole "kiddie court" with smaller boards for the little ones. They'll love having their own space to play and show off their skills.

Interactive Meal Prep Games

Why not make your meal prep a team effort with these interactive games that'll have everyone lending a hand (and a laugh) in the kitchen?

Our "Mystery Ingredient" game is perfect for getting everyone involved in the cooking process. Before the cookout, have each guest bring an ingredient with them, but keep it a secret. Once everyone arrives, have each person share their ingredient and explain how they'd use it in a dish. The most creative and delicious-sounding recipe wins a fun prize!

Taste Test Showdown

Put your family's taste buds to the test with this blind taste test game. Prepare a variety of dishes – some classic cookout favorites and some unexpected twists. Blindfold each player and have them guess the dish based on taste alone. The player with the most correct guesses wins a fun prize and bragging rights until next year's cookout.

Pro tip: Make sure to have some fun, unexpected ingredients on hand for those who want to get creative and show off their culinary skills.

DIY Pizza Party

Who doesn't love a good pizza party? Set up a DIY pizza station with an assortment of toppings, and let your guests create their own culinary masterpieces. The catch? Each person must use at least one "mystery topping" – an ingredient they've never had on pizza before. This interactive game encourages everyone to step out of their comfort zones and try something new.

Don't forget to have some fun, themed aprons and hats on hand for the perfect Instagram-worthy moment. The guest with the most creative and delicious-looking pizza wins a fun prize and gets to choose the first slice off the grill!

As the sun sets and the last embers of the grill fade, take a moment to look around at the laughter, the memories, and the full bellies. This is what it's all about – bringing people together, creating lasting memories, and having a blast while doing it. So, gather your family and friends, fire up the grill, and let the good times roll with these fantastic family cookout games!
