Parol Lantern Festival

The Parol Lantern Festival is a beloved Filipino tradition that dates back to the 17th century. Parols are star-shaped lanterns that symbolize the star that guided the Three Wise Men to Bethlehem. To incorporate this theme into your party, create a DIY parol-making station where guests can design their own lanterns using colorful paper, cellophane, and other craft materials.

Once the lanterns are complete, string them up around your venue to create a magical, festive atmosphere. You could also organize a lantern parade or procession, complete with carols and traditional Filipino Christmas songs.

Simbang Gabi and Media Noche

Simbang Gabi is a dawn mass held during the nine days leading up to Christmas, while Media Noche is the traditional midnight feast that follows the late-night mass. To bring these traditions to life at your party, set up a cozy seating area where guests can enjoy a quiet moment of reflection before the feasting begins.

Serve a Media Noche-inspired buffet featuring Filipino Christmas staples like lechon, hamon, and queso de bola. Don't forget to include a variety of kakanin (Filipino rice cakes) and other sweet treats for dessert. As the night goes on, encourage guests to share stories, play games, and create lasting memories with their loved ones.
